Long Bar

One of London’s most popular premium bars, Long Bar has retained its glamorous appeal since its opening in 2000 with a seasonally changing cocktail list to match the stylish, fast-paced clientele.  The name refers to the impressive, 80 foot glowing onyx bar which serves as the focal point to the Sanderson’s energetic atmosphere.  From here the Long Bar’s bright, airy atmosphere extends out unto the lovely Courtyard Garden.

Guests can perch on the iconic “eye” stools to enjoy mouth-watering cocktails such as the signature Sanderson Martini—a refreshing blend of grapes, cucumber, apple juice and Wyborowa lemon vodka; the Swedish Kiss with champagne, Chambord, Limoncello and passion fruit; and the Lady Killer—a fruity blend of Sauza Tequila, raspberries and wild blackberry liqueur.

Purple Bar

Providing a mischievous “Yang” to the Long Bar’s ultra-white “Yin” is Purple Bar.  Tucked away and practically hidden in the lobby of the Sanderson, this dark and theatrical bar and lounge is adorned with sumptuous purples, lavenders and violets.  Silk opera curtains and miniature Queen Anne chairs, all by French design guru, Philippe Starck, offer the perfect intimate setting for conversation and people watching in what has become one of London’s hottest gathering places. The bar itself is immediately eye-catching, with the appearance of a stone meteorite, just fallen from the sky.

Celebrating the art of the cocktail, no drink is too challenging for the award winning bar team that have helped to establish Purple Bar as an industry leader. With a selection of 120 vodkas, martinis are the specialty—whether you’re sipping a fastidious reproduction of a classic recipe or one of Purple Bar’s more modern signature drinks, time flies by in this cocktail-lovers paradise.
